Dr. Rawlin Albert “Pete” Fairbaugh of Trumbull, CT passed away at the age of 92 on September 23, 2025, from a short illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Norma Jeanne Persiani Fairbaugh and four children: Leslie Fairbaugh of Stratford, CT; David Fairbaugh and his fiancée Amelie Provost of Ooltewah, TN; Paige Fairbaugh of Trumbull, CT; and Steve Fairbaugh and wife Jackie of Ashburn, VA. He is predeceased by his son, Peter Fairbaugh. Pete is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandson, his sister Marsha Thompson of Washington, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Pete (as he liked to be called) was born December 13, 1932, in McKeesport, PA. He was ROTC and earned a BA in Economics and Accounting from Washington and Jefferson College, an MBA from New York University and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Bridgeport. During a 30-year career with Pitney-Bowes, Inc., he rose from financial trainee through management and product development to Corporate Treasurer and Vice President of Product Service. Dr. Pete also had 30+ years of experience as a Professor of Business and as Director of the MBA Graduate Business Program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, where he retired as Professor Emeritus. He founded the MBA program in Luxembourg for the John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University. Additionally, he taught graduate management courses at the College for Modern Business Studies in Hungary and at the University of Wolfsburg in Germany.
Pete served as a U.S. army officer for two years, finishing as a First Lieutenant in 1957. He was a life-long Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
