Doris A. Kowalkowski

Doris A. (Hanak) Kowalkowski, age 92, of Brookfield, CT, passed away May 2, 2024, with her son, Edward by her side. She was born on June 13, 1931, in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late John and Mary Hanak. After Doris graduated from Central High School in 1948, she worked at Remington Arms as a secretary.  In 1951 Doris assisted her husband with the creation of Boston Garage. After Edward Sr.’s passing, she turned her support over to her son Edward Jr. as he continued operation of the family business. A natural beauty, and graduate of Barbizon Beauty School, she participated in numerous modeling contests and was an avid fitness fan.  Over the years she was a member of the former New York Sports Club on Mill Plain Rd., where she was asked to adorn advertisements showing what a beautifully fit senior citizen looks like. Doris continued to spread beauty with her love of gardening and enjoyed decorating her home for every holiday. 
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Kowalkowski Sr. and her brother-in-law Daniel Jocis.
She is survived by her devoted son, Edward Kowalkowski Jr and his girlfriend Margie Anderson, her loving sister, Beatrice Jocis, her cherished niece and nephew, Lisa Jocis Mostafa and Marc Jocis as well as many cousins, great and grand nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 9th from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cyril F.
