Diane (Csizmadia) Ciaramella, age 86, devoted wife of Michael Ciaramella Sr., of Shelton, went home to the Lord on August 2, 2024. Born on August 28, 1937, in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Anne Csizmadia. Diane loved music and began singing in church at 11yrs old. She was a student of Margaret Lee and was a finalist in the Ted Mack Amateur competition and a runner up on a WNAB radio contest. She also competed in the annual Jenny Lind competition held at the Klein and performed with the Stardusters Orchestra. In the early seventies, she started the first guitar/folk group at St. Lawrence Church in Shelton and started the first ecumenical Bible school, welcoming children from Bridgeport. Diane worked as both a legal and executive secretary, retiring from Philips Medical in Shelton after 17yrs. She was a member of the Philips Chorus and performed in many concerts in the area. In her retirement, she volunteered at Wesley Heights and Bishop Wicke starting a chorus and writing life stories of the residents.
Diane is survived by her husband Michael Sr. and her children, Michael Jr. and Suzanne Silvestro and her husband Michael, her brother Louis Csizmadia, her cherished grandchildren, Raymond Guido and his wife Kristen, Daniel Guido and his wife Lauren, Nicholas Guido, Louis Silvestro, Joseph Silvestro, and great grandchildren Connor and Oliver Guido, Chiara, Zelie, and Kolbe Guido. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michele Guido.
A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Burial will be private.
