Diana Dorothy Kitchener passed away peacefully the morning of April 6, 2026 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford Connecticut. She is survived by her children: Julie Leiss and her partner Allen Heady of Bridgeport, her son, Retired Admiral Roy Kitchener and his wife Sharon of Norfolk, Virginia, and her son Richard Kitchener and his wife Lesley of Monroe. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, niece and grandniece. She is predeceased by her husband Christopher Kitchener and her daughter Gabrielle Kitchener.
Diana was born in Hampstead, London, England on May 5, 1937. She worked in London as a draftsperson until she met her husband who brought her to the United States in 1966, where she and her family have lived since. Diana was an avid doll collector and owned Di’s Dolls for many years, buying and selling vintage and first edition dolls.
She was artistic, generous, and lively. Due to her beauty and English background she was often referred to as “Princess Di.” She suffered from rheumatoid arthritis most of her life but was well taken care of by her family. Her last years were spent living with and being cared for by her daughter Julie and her partner Allen.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT. Burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Moose Hill Rd. Monroe, CT.
