Daryl S. Donnelly

Daryl Donnelly, age 59, of West Haven, formerly of Trumbull, passed away May 16, 2021. He was born in Alameda, CA  on January 31, 1962 to the late William and Alcenior Donnelly. Daryl was a 1980 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Trumbull where he was a 3-sport varsity letterman and was named All State in football his senior season.  He continued his football career at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, a NAIA Division II school.  Daryl was a 4-year starter at the nose guard position and twice named to the All-District Team.  As a member of the 1981 football team, Daryl and his teammates were inducted into the school's athletic Hall of Fame.  Daryl graduated from PSU in 1984 with a ​​Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and married his college sweetheart, Julie Pio in 1985.  Daryl loved the outdoors and was a hard worker, skilled in many various trades.  Daryl was an easy going, kindhearted person who was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife Julie Pio Donnelly and his brother David Donnelly. He is survived by his loving children Dustyn Donnelly and Ashley Donnelly (Tito Gonzalez); his devoted brothers Duane Donnelly (wife Deline) and Danial Donnelly (wife Carol); five cherished grandchildren Cole, Lincoln, Mason, Julien and Faith, his sister-in-law Patricia Donnelly and five loving nieces and nephews James, Jessica, Kate, Meghan and Danial. Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull with Reverend Joseph Marcello officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Masks are required.
