Charlotte May Yetman

Charlotte May Yetman, age 63, of Shelton, passed away April 11, 2023 in her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Allentown, PA, daughter of the late Dr. C. Duncan Yetman and Janet L. Bozenhard Yetman. After receiving her undergraduate degree at Penn State, Charlotte went on to receive a MFA at NYU.  For many years she worked as a free lance costume designer and costume shop manager in such places as the Good Speed Opera House, Julliard School of Music, and The Oregon Shakespearean Festival before settling into a teacher career at Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, Ohio. There she was a professor of costume design for the last twenty years.  She designed and built countless shows, both academic and freelance during the summers.  She loved quilting, crocheting, crafting and above all sewing.  She ran a thriving Etsy shop where she sold her creations.   Charlotte also loved her community at Grace Church in Middleburg Heights Ohio where she was actively involved in their Making Peace ministry. She is survived by her loving brother and sisters, Lilian and Scott Mogle and their children Logan and Monica of Shelton, CT; Duncan Yetman Jr. and his children Nicholas, Jessica, and Duncan III of Arlington, VA; Elizabeth and Jeff Doolittle and their sons Benjamin and Sean of Windsor, CT; and Amy and Scott Sauyet and their children Theodore and Kayleigh of Andover, CT.  Friends and family are invited to attend her celebration of life on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Living Hope Church, 54 Grove St. Shelton CT with the Reverend Erik Horwedel officiating.
