Casimira M Biernacki

Casimira (Cassie) Matilda Biernacki, age 97, born in Naugatuck, raised in Derby, and a lifelong resident of Stratford, CT passed away peacefully September 10, 2024 in Bridgeport.  She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Biernacki and by her loving sister Joan Kowalkowski.  Cassie is survived by her devoted nephews, David Kowalkowski and Attorney Stephen Kowalkowski and numerous cousins.

Cassie, a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial school, was an awards winning executive secretary at AVCO Lycoming / Textron in Stratford.  In addition to her career, Cassie was a passionate piano player and singer who performed on local radio and even recorded a record.  

Behind her firm quiet personality, Cassie was a devoted religious person and a lifelong care giver not only to her parents but her fiancée who suffered from a paralyzing medical condition. When she was not caring for others, Cassie was an avid reader, an international news junkie, and fierce debater.

Cassie loved attending church events, Polka parties and traveling to Poland to visit friends and family.  She loved weekend car trips to neighboring states and state parks.  But her most favorite activity was visiting diners and restaurants searching for the best Hamburger and Fries. Cassie’s most memorable saying is “Do you want to go for hamburger and fries?”  Are hamburgers and fries served in Heaven??

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services Tuesday, Sept 17th at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull, CT. Burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Ansonia, CT.
