Barbara Gehan Packwood, age 88, of Trumbull, passed away July 7, 2021 in her home at Middlebrook Farms surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in the Bronx, NY to the late Raymond and Alice Gehan. She was a retired elementary school teacher who worked in the New York and Norwalk public school systems for over 30 years. Barbara most enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, playing bingo, cheering on her hometown New York Yankees, watching Big East basketball, and researching family genealogy. She was a long-time resident of Rowayton and parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She was patriotic and passionate about God, family, and country.
She is survived by five devoted children: Mary Cornell and her husband Kevin, Ann Packwood, Tom Packwood and his wife Maureen, Kate McManus and her husband Frank, and Terri Mastriani and her husband Dave; two loving brothers Ray Gehan and his wife Jane and Bernie Gehan and his wife, Mary Ann; nine cherished grandchildren were proud to call her “Baba”: John Cornell and his wife Lindsey, Tom, Kevin and Mary Kate Cornell, Ryan Packwood, Joe and Bill McManus, Frankie and Charlie Mastriani. She was predeceased by her former husband Henry Packwood and her sister-in-law Ginny Gehan.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. - 4 :00 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
