Anne Marie Gruce

Anne Marie (Grosner) Gruce, age 83, The Villages, FL, is dancing in eternity with her beloved husband of 61 years, Joseph.  She passed from this earth, peacefully, Saturday, September, 9, 2023 with family at her side. 
Anne was born in Bridgeport, CT, on July 21,1940 to George and Anna Grosner. She attended Stratford High School and Southern Connecticut State College, where she received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She spent her life making a loving home for her family, baking, cooking, driving, gardening, sewing, decorating, encouraging, planning and keeping everyone in line.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and worked as a substitute teacher and real estate agent when her children were older. She was always there for us and for that we are grateful. 
Anne is survived by her children, Anne VanDerSchuur(Leo, North Port, FL), Joseph III(Cecily, Milford, NH) and Cathy Cooper(Brian, Clayton, NC), beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Laura VanDerSchuur, and her brothers George Grosner(Newtown, CT) and Donald Grosner(Kathy, Ocala, FL).
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, mother, Anna Grosner, father, George Grosner, and her sister, Judith Grosner. 
The family would like to thank the staff of Freedom Pointe Place, The Villages, FL, for their wonderful care of Mom over the past years.  Also, Cornerstone Hospice, who made her last days peaceful.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Rd. Newtown. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
