Alton Lenoce Obituary

Alton "Al" Lenoce, age 93, of Shelton, CT and formerly of Trumbull, CT, passed away November 5, 2024. He was born in New Haven, CT  to the late Anthony and Mae Lenoce

As a young man, Al’s mother instilled a sense of education and service.  Al attended Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University. During these years, Al met his sweetheart, Nancy.

Al was drafted for the Korean War.  As an Army Ranger, he was often behind enemy lines calling in the air strikes.  He received the Silver Star, the Bronze Medal, the Purple Heart, the Soldier's Medal, and the Korean War Medal. Returning home following a “letter writing courtship”, Al and Nancy married and began their family.

He was the Manager of WNAB Radio in Bridgeport for many years, and co-owner of WLVH, CT’s first Spanish radio station.  He was a consultant on cell towers and their electromagnetic waves.  AL was involved in many civic and community organizations. Former President of the Better Business Bureau, the CT Broadcasters Association, as well as positions within the Barnum Festival.

In retirement, Al demonstrated his many creative talents in redecorating, building, and car restorations of 2 “65” mustangs.

Soon after, a gift of 5 roses began his garden creation.

Over the years, Al spent many hours perfecting the art of rose growing and designing the gardens to showcase the fragrant displays that occurred every June. Spinning Wheel Gardens gave many pleasures, to family, to new friends, and a community of people coming together to embrace a stunning and tranquil environment.

So now, may he now truly RELAX in God's Heavenly Garden.
