Alexander DiMasi Obituary

Alexander James DiMasi, age 26 of Trumbull, beloved son of Vincent and Margaret (Verrastro) DiMasi, died suddenly on Friday, September 3, 2021. Born in Bridgeport on July 27, 1995, AJ grew up in Trumbull, and was a member of the Trumbull High School Class of 2013. He went on to graduate from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2017, where he received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. AJ was an artist, poet, photographer, designer, and engineer.

AJ loved spending time with his family and being an artist, especially the process of creating beauty with ceramics. He was known for big smiles and long hugs. He was a natural athlete who enjoyed frisbee and golf, but was most proud of the CIAC State Championship won with his Trumbull Ice Hockey family in 2012. He went on to play Division 3 NCAA Lacrosse at Wentworth (WIT).

AJ enjoyed being outdoors, cooking healthy meals, having genuine conversations and exploring all that life had to offer. He ventured through America visiting national parks and exploring the history and natural beauty of our country. He also braved through Western Europe conversing with locals and experiencing different cultures. He made a special detour to visit his family who live in Avigliano, Italy. AJ was one who loved to travel off the beaten path. He had an eye for beauty and loved to create. Our memories of AJ will shape our lives forever.

In addition to his loving parents, Vincent and Margaret of Trumbull, survivors include: his sister, Alisha DiMasi and husband David Etlinger with their two children Loretta and Louis of New Hampshire, and his brother, Derek DiMasi and wife Danielle (Anarumo) DiMasi of Cos Cob, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Vincent and Nancy (Mancini) DiMasi, his maternal grandparents, Salvatore and Frances (Arrigo) Verrastro, his Great Aunt Janet Palladino, and Quincy DiMasi, the beloved family dog.
