Adela Veronica Buck, age 63, of Monroe, passed away on February 10, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in Chicago, IL.
Adele was a nurse by trade, working within the cardiac unit at Loyola hospital. When her children were born, she transitioned to stay home and care for her kids. Adele was passionate about her community, serving as the President of Monroe Women’s Club, spearheading events and fundraising for local charities. She was a devoted member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and found strength in her faith throughout her cancer journey.
She is survived by her loving husband John; her children, Alexander Joseph Buck and his wife Christina Cave of Austin, TX Christa Rae Buck and her longtime partner Scott Bracken of Austin, TX; her siblings, Stan Fornal and his wife Patty of IL, Ted Fornal and his wife Patsy of IL, J.C. Fornal of WA, Casey Fornal of IL, Helen Dembski of IL, Mary Wiersema and her husband John of IL and Joe Fornal and his wife Laura of IL; a grandchild Floyd Cave-Buck. She was predeceased by her parents Leopold and Jozefa Fornal, her sister in-law Marsha and brother in-law Steven.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main St. Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
