I remember the first time Mrs. Sylvia James allowed me to display my cardboard cars at her school (Banneker). I think this was 3rd grade or so. That encouraging nature is one of the reasons I am who I am. She is my mother's dearest friend, and I am so sorry Henry and Butch. I stand with you both, and you have my sincerest wishes through this time.

Robert and Henry,

We are sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. We have fond memories of our time on 20th Place in Gary, and the love and friendship that your parents shared with our family. As sadness overtakes you at this time of loss, love can build a bridge of sweet and cherished memories that will keep you forever connected to your mother
.
You have our deepest sympathy.

Dear Robert Jr., Henry & Family,
We were so sorry to hear of your loss. We will always remember our friendly & kind neighbor in Huntington who loved her family very much. When we saw her, she would often talk about the many accomplishments of her grandchildren how and was so proud of them. It was always so nice to see her. Sending our prayers to all of you.

Dearest Cousin James,
Our Greer Family has lost one of the pillars of it's foundation with the passing of Cousin Hensie. I will forever remember and cherish her for her kindness, her hospitality and for her absolute love and stewardship of the legacy of our great family. She has now taken her rightful place among the proud ancestors who lovingly watch over us.
May you, Robert and your entire immediate family feel the love and support that is coming to you from your extended Greer family during this difficult time. Your mother absolutely was one of our best!
With love and sympathy,
Cousin Jeffery V Thompson

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mrs. James may be resting in glory now, but she has left behind many who will mourn her passing. What an icon. Love,
