Stella Wolpiuk, age 97, of Trumbull, passed away November 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Stella was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Julian and Michalina Rusiecki. She and her family moved to Poland when very young. She returned to Brooklyn before WWII at the age of 18.  She found employment as a domestic before moving to Bridgeport, the land of opportunity, where she worked for Singer Sewing and found her husband of 65 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stan Wolpiuk, Sr, aka; Pop. They lived on Willow St, in Bridgeport most of their married life before moving to Trumbull. Stella was a member of St. Michaels Parish of Bridgeport and the Polish Sokol's. She loved to tell stories, enjoyed dancing, had favorite radio programs, played Bingo and was an avid Pinochle player. She prepared many wonderful polish meals from the fruits of their garden and was a good example to her family. She helped many people in her community, sponsoring other Polish immigrants and faithfully praying her rosary.  Also predeceased her brothers Walter and Anthony Rusiecki. Survivors include her devoted son and daughter-in-law Stan and Mary Wolpiuk Jr. with whom she resided; six loving grandchildren Michelle and her husband Edward, Danielle, Tommy, Emily, Stanley and Abigail and three cherished great grandchildren Maria, Hope, and Aquinas. The family wishes to give a special note of appreciation for prayers offered and to all the kind healthcare givers. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services beginning with a viewing on Friday, November 10th at 9:00-10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. followed by 11:00 AM Holy Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Interment in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
