Rosemary Reznikoff Cornell was born on April 24, 1935 in New York City and passed away peacefully on April 26, 2018. She was the daughter of Dr. Paul and Dorothy Reznikoff. Rosemary grew up in two residences. During the school year the family lived in Pelham, NY where Rosemary attended the Pelham public schools (including Pelham Memorial High School). She excelled in academics and sports. Her interests included modern dance and cheer leading. She was a very close friend and supporter to her sister Camilla (now deceased) and two younger brothers, Paul (now deceased) and William Reznikoff of Woods Hole MA, although she sometimes bested them in neighborhood stickball games. The family spent the summers in Woods Hole, MA where Rosemary spent her time sailing, attending and teaching at the Woods Hole Science School and singing in the Church of the Messiah.
Rosemary graduated with distinction from Mount Holyoke College where she majored in chemistry. In addition to raising a family, Rosemary had a very successful career as a Chemist and an analytical instrument representative for Hewlett Packard. Rosemary was passionate about singing in the church choir and was an active volunteer in retirement at a local Audubon society and as a mentor for local grade school children.
Rosemary is pre-deceased by her husband John S. Cornell and survived by her four children and their spouses: Steve and Molly Cornell Madison CT, Kevin and Mary Cornell Orange CT, James and Merial Cornell Trumbull CT, Dorothy and Paul Griffith Trumbull CT and was a devoted grandmother to their children Torry, John, Tom, Kevin, Mary Kate, Christine and Amanda.
The family thanks all of her caregivers for their loving and respectful assistance in her final years. A private memorial service for the family will be held at the Church of the Messiah in Woods Hole, MA.
