Richard A. Brown Sr. was born on 1/8/36 in Bridgeport, CT. The best husband/father/grandfather returned to be with God on January 18, 2018 after a valiant seven year battle with Alzheimer’s. Richard was predeceased by his father, Harold Brown, mother, Bertha Stevenson Brown Vatert, step-father Cyril Vatert and brother Gregory Vatert. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Michaeline Adams Brown, his daughter Susan J. Krinsky and her husband Dr. Richard N. Krinsky, son Richard (Rick) Brown Jr. and his extra-special and dearly loved grandchildren, Michael and Haylie Krinsky. His siblings Barbara Arsenault, and Patricia and her husband Ronald Steele, his sister and brother-in-law Judith and Arthur (Ted) Carveth and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also, mourn his loss.
Richard graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport in June of 1954, after which he joined the United States Army and served 18 months in Korea and a total of 6 years in the Army.. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1962. He was employed as a store manager and district manager for 40 years by A&P Supermarkets, until he retired 17 years ago.
Richard was an avid golfer, bowler and loved to play bridge with his dear friends.He also enjoyed his times spent as part of the cast of the parish shows at Our Lady of Grace and St. Charles. Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on
Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane Stratford, CT . Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on
Monday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association of CT, 607 Main Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851.
