Welcome to the memorial page for

Regina E O'Sullivan

March 8, 1944 ~ November 30, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Regina “Ginger” Eileen Travers O’Sullivan, beloved wife, mother, & grandmother passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on November 30, 2017. Ginger is survived by her devoted husband of over 43 years, Robert O’Sullivan. Ginger was born and raised in the Inwood section of upper Manhattan, a member of St. Jude parish, and was educated in New York City Catholic Schools. Ginger moved to Connecticut in 1974 to start and raise her family. Ginger and Bob lived in Stratford and Bridgeport before settling in Trumbull in 1986. Ginger dedicated her life to caring for her family, as well as caring for many children throughout her years as an In-Home Daycare Provider. In addition to her husband, Ginger is survived by her loving children and step-children: Dan O’Sullivan and his wife Rebecca of Brooklyn, NY; Rita O’Sullivan Troutman and her husband Steve of Leonardtown, MD; Teresa O’Sullivan Ferraro and her husband Tim of Trumbull, CT; Michael O’Sullivan and his wife Cindi of North Haven, CT; and Shawn O’Sullivan and his wife Laura of Hamden, CT. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Coraline, Abigail, Margaret, Seamus, Nora, Amelia, Michael, Robert, Erin, Shawn, and Kristen; her siblings JoAnn Burns and Thomas Travers, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Rita Kennedy Travers, and her brother Vincent Travers. Ginger was a wonderful, compassionate, and genuine person who always put others before herself. Ginger was proud of being a “New Yorker” and growing up in her beloved Inwood.  She was a 2nd Generation Irish-American and was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and The Gaelic American Club of Fairfield, CT. Ginger and Bob shared many happy occasions with their families and friends, both in the United States and Ireland. Ginger took great pride in her family, and loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in this world.

The O’Sullivan Family would like to recognize the loving kindness of Rossetta Dunkley and Sandra Ferguson, Ginger’s wonderful caregivers, who provided her a beautiful quality of life during her last year and Danielle Gonzales of VITAS Healthcare for her compassionate support.
