Marie E. Ovian

February 28, 1943 ~ July 2, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Marie E. (Martone) Ovian, 74, of Sunrise, FL (formerly of Sutton, MA), passed away
peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in
Worcester, MA to the late Nicholas and Rose (Tortorino) Martone. She graduated from
Commerce High School and Lesley University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in
Business Management. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark’s Church in Sutton. Marie worked for Digital
Equipment Corp. and Quantum as a manager for 23 years. After retirement, she
became President of the Sunrise Lakes Phase IV Social Club and V.P. of the Italian-
American Club. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of 54 years; her three daughters, Lori
Natale and her husband Stephen of Charlton, Lynne Wagner of Charlton, and Lu-ann
Wells of Worcester; her grandchildren, Robert, Autumn, Spencer, Jacob, Haylee, and
Joshua; a great-granddaughter, Mikayla; her siblings, Marilyn Kanerva and her husband
Ronald of West Boylston, Ernest Martone and his wife Marygrace of Worcester, Loretta
Sclafani and her husband Accurzio of Worcester, Sandra Penny and Robert Sr., of
Worcester, Deborah Martone of Dudley; her mother-in-law, Alice Miller of West
Boylston; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Barbara Martone of Worcester, Dennis
Leonard of Millbury, Sonia Cure of West Boylston, Robert Ovian and his wife Susan of
Jefferson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She was
predeceased by her siblings, Anthony Martone, June Leonard, and John Martone.
Friends may greet the family on Saturday July 15, 2017, at St. Mark's Church, 356 Boston Rd., Sutton, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. 
A memorial mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude
Children’s Research Foundation, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or “Food for
the Needy” c/o Arnie Coopersmith, 10207 Sunrise Lakes Blvd., Sunrise, FL 33322. The
family would like to thank the nurses from Vitas Hospice for their care and kindness
during this difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the
Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, Trumbull, CT.
