John (Jack) A. Wilson, age 94, of Bridgeport, passed away on January 20, 2019 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport and was a life long area resident. He was an Army veteran and served his country proudly where he received the Purple Heart. He was the son of Clyde and Alice Wilson, born on October 3, 1924. Jack graduated Harding High School in 1943 and enlisted in the US Army. On Aug. 25, 1944, Jack was among the first troops to aid in the liberation of Paris, France from the Axis occupation. After his Army discharge in 1945, Jack worked for Sprague Meter Co. for 32 years until his retirement in 1986. Jack was a member of V.F.W. Post 145 and the D.A.V. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and animal lover. Jack was predeceased by his son, Glenn and former wife, Ginny. He is survived by his loved ones, Erica L. Murphy and Brian T. Bernier.
Funeral arrangements for John are private and have been entrusted to the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
