John Eiby

John Aldrich Eiby, age 81, passed away peacefully in his home, on Saturday April 27, 2019. He is the son of the late Lauritz and Muriel Eiby. John is survived by his wife, Diane P. Eiby of NC; Lara Edmundson and Micheal Corwel of CT; step children: Lori Schwarz and Jeffrey Smith of CT and Leslie and Jeffrey Bellows of NC. He is also survived by his sister: Lauren Magnuson of NH; brother: Richard Angus of CA; 14 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and wives: Mary Jane Faust and Barbara Corwel.
John was a lifelong resident of Trumbull, CT until he retired to NC. He was an active member of the Trumbull Congregational Church of Trumbull and their choir, also was a member of the Algonqin Club. He graduated form the Wentworth Institute with an Engineering degree and was a Veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. The Air Force honored him for developing and building a Targeted Designator System for tracking of missiles. His work involved research and development of products.
John was an expert in radios and radio frequencies. He was fascinated with antique radios, in which he collected and refurbished thru out his life.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull with the Reverend Timothy Hare officiating, followed by interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT with full military honors.   Visitation will be on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.  The family extends a special thanks to his caregivers Joseph Trinity, Rebecca Greene and Erin Tiddick for their loving care and to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Greensboro, NC for the exceptional care and support provided over the last few years.
