Joan Martha Rusterholz, beloved mom, friend, sister, wife and Nina left the world on May, 27th, 2018 at the age of 83. Born in Brooklyn, NY and one of the five Sinnott sisters, she was always the tough one – never fearful of anything. She loved to laugh, could make a meal for twenty even when her refrigerator was empty and was always there for her family and friends. Her memory and love continues on through her children Mary Rusterholz Platt and Craig Platt of Trumbull, CT; Ken and Sue Rusterholz of Daniel Island, South Carolina and Ellen and Phil Jackson of Sterling Heights, Michigan as well as her beloved Grandchildren: Kenny, Tim, Stephen, Li Shan, Adam and Bryan and the many other friends and family who had the privilege of being part of her life. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth G. Rusterholz. From her humble beginnings in Brooklyn she forged a path that allowed her family to grow and thrive. Her energy and unending optimism, even during the hard times, allowed all her knew her to smile a bit bigger. Joan was at peace leaving this world………. having shown what true love is and leaving a legacy for all who knew her to follow. Thank you Joan for every moment, every push, every laugh, every meal and for giving us a true example of how to live. Miss you already but see you in our dreams. Friends and family may call to share their memories on June 7th from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Interment will be private.
