SEDENSKY Jean Robstock Sedensky, 85, of Trumbull, formerly of Bridgeport, beloved wife of 50 years to the late Stephen J. Sedensky, Jr. passed away peacefully in her sleep early Thursday morning, November 30, 2017. Jeannie was born in Bridgeport on February 17, 1932, the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Wilson) Robstock. She graduated from St. Augustine's School, Bassick High School and Teachers College of Connecticut (now Central Connecticut State University). After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Jeannie returned to Bridgeport and taught second grade at Black Rock School for several years before leaving to raise her family with her husband Steve. When her youngest child went off to college, she returned to the classroom as a teacher’s aide in the Bridgeport school system, retiring at the age of 74.

Jeannie’s main love was her family. She was a constant source of love, comfort and support for her husband, children and grandchildren. From family parties at holidays, birthdays and weddings, to days and vacations at the beach, skiing or elsewhere to school and sporting events, Jeannie and Steve wove a wonderful life together. Besides her husband, her two sisters Catherine Greenwood and Sally Shea were her best friends. She was also blessed with many good friends from her childhood and those she met while raising her family in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport.

Jeannie was a devout Roman Catholic and a parishioner at different phases of her life at Saint Augustine’s and Saint Ann’s in Bridgeport and Saint Stephen’s in Trumbull. She had an unwavering faith in God which she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Jeannie will be missed by her family: Stephen J. Sedensky III, his wife Nancy and their children Audrey Anne and Stephen IV of Newtown, CT; John Sedensky, his wife Susan and their children John, Mary and Julie of Mystic, CT; Anne Sedensky Lajeunesse, her husband Marc and their children Marc and Robert of Lafayette, NJ; Jeannie Sedensky Schlesinger, her husband John and their children Allison and Patrick of Portsmouth, RI; Kathy Sedensky Damon, her husband John and their children Amanda, Jack and Kitty of Portsmouth, RI; Mark Sedensky, his wife  Amy Sedensky and their children Ava and Jack of Middlebury, CT; and Christine Sedensky Fioritto, her husband Dr. Christopher Fioritto and their children James, Sean and Christopher of Highland Heights, Ohio; her sister-in-law Mary Sedensky Koehm of Trumbull and brother-in-law John Sedensky and his wife Beverly of Hampstead, NH. She was predeceased by her sister Catherine and brother-in-law Thomas Greenwood, her sister Sally and brother-in-law Dick Shea and brother-in-law Andrew Koehm. Jeannie was grateful for the excellent care she received in the last weeks of her life from Jossie Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 9th at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St. Trumbull, CT. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on December 8th from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice.
