Welcome to the memorial page for

J.P. Roger Gaulin

August 22, 1926 ~ October 2, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

J.P. Roger Gaulin of Wallingford CT passed peacefully October 2, with his family by his side. Roger was the son of the late Leo P. and Edna (Beaudoin) Gaulin of Millbury, MA.  Roger and his loving wife Emma (Chapdelaine) Gaulin recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Roger was the most loving Dad to 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law. David Gaulin, Russell and Pida (Kanyang) Gaulin, Curtis and Janet (Higgins) Gaulin and Douglas and Amy (Gannon) Gaulin.
He was also a most loving granddad to his 9 grandchildren Brynne, Errin, Bret, Joseph, Jennifer, Maxwell, Cameron, Leon and Nathan. Sadly, he leaves his sisters Giselle (Gaulin) Tarantino and Rachel (Gaulin) Minor and her husband Ernest, his sister-in-law Eleanor (White) Gaulin and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers: Norman, Gabriel and Nestor Gaulin.

Roger was a Senior Mass Properties Engineer for the ITEK Corporation in Lexington, MA. and later for the Perkin Elmer Corp. in Danbury, CT. Roger worked on many aerospace projects, doing weights analysis and mechanical design. He proudly noted that many years' work was on the Hubbel Space Telescope from concept to launch. Roger had many interests and hobbies, most centered on woodworking. He has left a legacy of handcrafted toys, carvings, baskets and furniture.  Roger also donated many hours of service to the Bridgeport Visiting Nurses Home Hospice Services. He was also an active member of the Nichols United Methodist Church (N.U.M.C.) where he was known as Mr. FixIt. He even served 6 years as a trustee. He was active in many Bible studies as well as prayer and healing gatherings.

Typically, when Roger developed an interest, he really got involved. During his working years he became interested in public speaking so he joined the Western CT, Toastmasters Club for many years and in turn ultimately elected President of the club. Another long time society organization in which he was deeply involved for over 30 years was the International Society of Allied Weights Engineers [S.A.W.E] as  a member of both the Boston and New England chapters. He proudly noted that he was elected President of the S.A.W.E New England chapter after rising through the ranks. He was also an Army veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps in Panama as a navigator for a mission conducting aerial surveys of South America.

Roger was “Quiet by Nature and Short in Stature but he got things done” [J.P.R.G 2007] and loved by all who knew him.
