Harriet A O'Donnell

Harriet Ann (Larkin) O'Donnell, age 88, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on July 30, 2018. She was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late William and Ann (Price) Larkin. She worked at the Bridgeport Public Library, the City of Bridgeport Police Department and retired from the City of Bridgeport Tax Assessor's office. Harriet was dedicated to her Catholic faith and was a faithful member at St. George 's Catholic Church. Until recently, Harriet had lived her entire life in the South End of Bridgeport on Austin St. and 64 years in Seaside Village. She loved walking at Seaside Park with her dear friend Joan Peterson. They were often seen visiting and feeding the police horses at the stables in Seaside Park. During her retirement she loved to knit baby hats for premature babies at Bridgeport Hospital. One of her greatest joys was volunteering at Bridgeport Hospital in the Surgease Dep't with her daughter Eileen. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Richard J. O'Donnell, her son-in-law John Palmer, her brother William Larkin and her sisters Marie Brant, Agnes Skane, Margaret Walsh and Frances Lowry. She is survived by her loving children, son Richard O'Donnell and his wife Rona, granddaughters Kelly Voges and Shannon Miner, great grandsons Blake Miner and Logan Voges; daughter Eileen Palmer, grandsons Ryan and Trevor Palmer; daughter Nancy O'Donnell; daughter Maureen O'Donnell-Young and her husband Michael; daughter Rosemarie Cortina, granddaughter Victoria Cortina and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Friday at 11:00 a.m.  at St. George Catholic Church, 443 Park Ave. Bpt. Interment to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Memorial contributions may be made to St. George Church.
