GREGORY ALLYN SWEENEY passed away quietly at home in Trumbull, CT just shy of his 71st birthday on December 6, 2017.  Born in Ashland, Kentucky he grew up in Vandalia, Ohio, before relocating to Woodbridge, Virginia where he started his family with first wife, Marlene.  An avid ice hockey fan, he held season tickets for the Washington Capitals for many years.  His second marriage to Patricia Sweeney, now of Wilton, Connecticut, ended in divorce.  Greg is survived by a daughter, Tracie Lyn Sullivan, of Coward, South Carolina, a son Brian William Sweeney of Wilton, Connecticut, and a granddaughter Ashlie Sullivan of Harrisonburg, Virginia.  He was also blessed to have great friends in Peter and Pia Turzer of Trumbull.

Greg worked for many years in the transportation field, most recently for Hoyt Livery in New Canaan and Gardella Courier Services in Norwalk, but was able to retire five years ago.  Private services will be held at a later date.  In lieu of contributions, the family asks that interested persons contribute to a favorite charity of their choice.
