David Byrd Obituary
David V. Byrd, age 61, of Bridgeport, passed away September 26, 2019. David was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Steven and Elsie Byrd who made their home in Monroe. He graduated from Bullard Havens Technical HS and was a self employed carpenter. In later years David worked as a successful instructor at Allstate Commercial Drivers Training School. He was an avid outdoors man and loved all forms of nature & wildlife. He especially loved the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. His passions included fishing, gardening and riding his motorcycle. As a child he won several awards for growing massive pumpkins which was highlighted in a Connecticut Post news article. He loved animals, especially his Rottweiler dogs. He was an active participant in the Fairfield Police Explorers. Survivors include his brothers Gary and his wife Diane Byrd of Monroe, Robert and his wife Louise Byrd of North Branford; five nieces Valerie, Jennifer, Kimberly, Tracie & Stephanie Byrd; his life partner Michele Previs; her son George Previs III and his wife Sarah & children Gionni & Landon, and her daughter Emily Ann Previs. Friends and family are invited to attend graveside services on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019 at 12:00 noon directly at St. John's Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Rd. Monroe, CT 06468.
