Beatrice Irene Kwoka (Malisek), age 74, of Stratford, died peacefully on Sunday August 5, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born in Bridgeport on March 16, 1944, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Malisek (Lampart), and was a lifelong resident of Stratford.
“Bea” as many of her friends and family would call her, graduated from the University of Bridgeport School of Nursing. She began her career at the Stratford V.N.A. She continued to educate high school students in nursing at Stratford High School as well as Harding High School in Bridgeport. She was a school nurse in the Stratford School system for many years. After leaving the Stratford School system, she worked part time as a nurse at several nursery schools in Fairfield County. She had a love for UCONN women’s basketball, soap operas, politics and traveling. She also loved animals especially her buddy Helen.
Besides her husband Daniel Kwoka of 48 years, she leaves her son Daniel Kwoka Jr. of Stratford, daughter Karen Panza and her husband Stephen of Stratford, grandson Christopher, who she loved very much, sister Dorothy Varholak of Suffield and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
