Arlen T. Johnson, age 83, of Trumbull, passed away suddenly on January 3, 2019 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Mr. Johnson was born in Newark, N.J. to the late Torsten and Amelia Johnson. He was a retired engineer for General Electric. Mr. Johnson was an army veteran, serving in Korea. He was a member of St. Theresa Church and was their longest serving cantor. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, cheering on the Giants and Mets, and watching classic movies. Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Helen Lyons Johnson of Trumbull; six children: Allen (Karen) Johnson of Guilford, Terry Helen (Ivan) Nelson of Monroe, Barbara (Frank) O'Brien of Trumbull, Edward (Neli) Johnson of Stratford, David (Rebecca) Johnson of Meriden and Paul (Kristin) Johnson of Shelton; twelve cherished grandchildren: Alexandra, Holly, Kyle, Casey, Erin, Brady, Ryan, Nikki, Amanda, Evan, Matthew, and Anya, and several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Solange Skarecki and his grandson, Sean Johnson. Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Wednesday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
