Mrs. Margaret “Peg” Lathrop, 95, of Villa Park, CA  passed away February 18, 2016 at her home, surrounded by family. Mrs. Lathrop was born in Staten Island, NY and was a long time Trumbull resident before moving to California.
Mrs. Lathrop graduated from  St. Charles School in 1933 and Warren Harding High School in 1938. She worked for the Bassick Co. in New York as a receptionist until her marriage in 1948. She and her husband built their own home at 11 Thorburn Ave. where they lived for 44 years and raised their 5 children. 
Peg was a parishioner at St. John Neuman Catholic Church in Irvine and was an active member of their senior group. She was a daily communicant and served on the altar committee.
Family was the most important thing to Peg. She loved everything Irish. She worked hard to ensure the happiness and health of her family and in turn was a much beloved mother,aunt, friend, grandmother and great grandmother. 
Mrs. Lathrop is survived by her loving children Frederick and Mary Anne Lathrop of New York,  her daughter, Maggi Dorsey  and her son, John Lathrop of California, her beloved grandchildren Donald, Jason and Freddy Lathrop and Nicole Burden, all of New York. Meghan and Tommy Lathrop , Donovan, Kaitlyn and Kevin Dorsey of California  and her eight  great grandchildren.                                                                                                               
Mrs. Lathrop was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frederick A. Lathrop Jr.,her beloved son, Kevin and her brother Dr. John O’Looney. Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday June 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull. Inurnment to follow in Long Hill Cemetery.
